Why

The Student General Meeting on August 21 was the biggest pro-Palestine action ever seen at Western Sydney University (WSU). We sent WSU’s management and Albanese our message loud and clear: to halt the genocide and free Palestine, we need genuine sanctions. We need all of our campuses to be apartheid-free zones. We need WSU to end research with IDF supplier Syqe now!

This meeting voted in support of the following motion:

  1. Demanding that the Albanese government places political, economic and military sanctions on Israel.

  2. WSU to cut ties with Syqe Medical, which produces therapeutics for the Israeli army.

  3. WSU to lift the suspensions placed on students who protested for Palestine on campus last year.

  4. Opposing the planned cuts of 300 staff at the university.

The next step is to turn this vote into action.
