Light clashes between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES)/Rojava and the Syrian Caretaker Government (SCG) forces have been taking place near Deir Hafer, Tishreen Dam and Deir ez-Zor in recent days, with tensions rising in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh neighbourhoods of Aleppo.

Aleppo resident Hamude told Rojava Information Center: 鈥淔or 15 days, reconnaissance drones have been constantly overhead. We can hear and see them. The people of the neighbourhoods consider this a threat.鈥

The SDF views the recent actions by SCG forces as a violation of the terms of the March 10 agreement [reached between the SDF and the SCG].

In a statement, the SDF said: 鈥淲e have exercised restraint and sought to maintain calm despite these aggressions, out of our belief that Syria鈥檚 stability requires genuine partnership and shared responsibility from all parties.

鈥淗owever, the continuation of these attacks threatens mutual trust when Syria most needs dialogue 鈥 while the Damascus government bears full responsibility.鈥

Amid rising tensions on the ground, SCG President Ahmed al-Sharaa stated recently that the March 10 agreement is progressing, with details still under discussion.
